About Me

I'm a writer from Nottingham, England- most of what I write is dark, supernatural fiction, although not necessarily 'horror' in the blood and guts sense. My main influences are writers like Ramsey Campbell, Shirley Jackson, and Robert Aickman. I enjoy the unexplained, the psychological, and the ambiguous in my fiction.

I drink Guinness, if anyone's offering.

My second collection of short stories, Falling Over, was published by Infinity Plus in 2013. My first anthology as editor, The Hyde Hotel was published by Black Shuck Books in 2016.

2016 will also see the release of the novella Trying To Be So Quiet from Boo Books and the novel The Quarantined City from Infinity Plus.

If you'd like to know more, there are interviews with me scattered across the internet; some of my favourites are:

Interviewed by Mark West for his Strange Tales site.

Radio interview with Hannah Kate, originally on North Manchester FM

Interviewed by Gary Dalkin for the Amazing Stories website.

Interviewed by author Iain Rowan about books, horror, and the contentious gibbons vs. tigers debate...

This interview with myself (yes you read that right) over at Nigel Bird's blog

This interview by The Man With A Skull For A Head, conducted in the Jekyll and Hyde pub.

Interview by Gwendolyn Kiste as part of her Falling For Fiction series.
